Programming Your Remote (Minerva Platform)
How to Program a Universal Remote

Turn on the device.

On the remote control, press the corresponding device button - “TV”, “DVD” or “AUX.”

Press and hold the “RCU SETUP” button until the device key blinks twice.

Press “9” “9” “0” using the number pad on the remote. The device button will blink twice.

To obtain the first digit of the code press “1” on the remote number pad and then count the number of times the device button blinks. If it blinks twice, the first number in the code is 2. If the device button does not blink, the first number of the code is 0. For the second digit of the code press “2” on the remote number pad and then count the number of times the device button blinks. Continue this process to obtain the remaining digits of the code.

To learn the codes for other devices, simply repeat the steps above but substitute the device button with the appropriate one for the device you are checking.

How to Program the SkyBest TV Remote for Your TV (Minerva Platform)
For the ADB 8-Series Remote
- Ensure both set-top box and TV are powered on.
- Press and release the TV button.
- Press and hold RCU SETUP button until the TV button flashes twice.
- Press 995.
- Press and release the POWER button.
- Press and release the TV button.
- Press and release the POWER button.
- Press and release the STB button.
- Press and hold the RCU SETUP button until the STB button flashes twice.
For the ADB 7-Series Remote
- Ensure both your set-top box and TV are powered on.
- Press and release the TV button.
- Press and hold the SETUP button until the TV button flashes twice.
- Press 995.
- Press and release the POWER button.
- Press and release the TV button.
- Press and release the STB button.
- Press and hold the SETUP button until the STB button flashes twice.
How to Program the ADB Remote to Control Other Devices (Minerva Platform)
Your remote control can be programmed to handle several different devices, such as TVs, DVD Players, Blu-ray players, VCRs and more. Program your new remote in one of the following ways:
Option 1: Brand Set-up
First, find the manufacturer of your equipment on the Remote Control Programming Code list. These codes can be found listed on the paperwork that came with your set-top box or you can find them here:
- Turn on the device you want to program the remote to control.
- On the remote, press the corresponding device button - “TV”, “DVD” or “AUX.” Use the AUX button for programming your VCR.
- Press and hold the “RCU SETUP” button until the device key blinks twice.
- Enter one of the codes from the list. If the code was correct, the device key will blink twice.
- If the code was not correct, the key will emit one long blink. Repeat the process trying each code listed on the code list until you find the correct code.
- Press the “Power” button. If the device turns off, you have chosen the right code.
- If none of the codes work, then try an Automatic Search to help find the correct code. See instructions below.
Option 2: Automatic Search
Automatic Search should only be used if none of the brand codes listed work for your device or if the brand name of your device is not on the code list.
- Turn on the device you want to program the remote to control.
- On the remote, press the corresponding device button - “TV”, “DVD” or “AUX.”
- Press and hold the “RCU SETUP” button until the device key blinks twice.
- Press “9” “9” “1” using the number pad on the remote. The device button will blink twice.
- Aim the remote at the device for which you are programming the remote and press the “Power” button.
- Press “Channel up” or “Channel down” repeatedly until the device turns off.
- Press “Power” to turn the device back on.
- Press “RCU SETUP” to store the code for the device. The device key will blink twice. Your remote control is now programmed to operate the device.
- To automatically search for codes that correspond to other devices simply repeat the steps above making sure you select the appropriate device button – “TV”, “DVD” or “AUX.”
How to Lock and Unlock Recordings (Minerva Platform)
When disk space starts to run low on the DVR set-top box your system will automatically start deleting older programming to make room to record new programming. You can lock your favorite recordings to prevent them from being accidentally or automatically deleted.
- Press the MENU button on your remote.
- Scroll to “DVR” and press OK on your remote.
- Scroll to “Recordings” and press OK on your remote.
- Scroll to highlight the program you wish to lock and press OK on your remote. A list of choices will appear.
- Scroll to “Lock” and press OK on your remote. (A small lock shaped symbol will appear next to the recording you have locked. This program cannot be deleted unless unlocked.)
- To unlock a recording: Follow the steps above and once the list of choices appears scroll to “Unlock” and press OK on your remote.
How to Fix a Black Screen (Minerva Platform)
- Verify that the power to your TV is on. To turn on your TV with the SkyBest TV remote simply press the TV button on the remote then the POWER button.
- Verify that the power to the set-top box is on. A green light should be lit on the front of your box. If not, you can turn it on with your remote control. Simply press the STB button and then the POWER button on your remote.
NOTE: If step #1 or #2 resolves your issue, do not proceed to the next step.
- Reboot the set-top box by unplugging the black power cord from the back of the set-top box for 10 seconds and then plug it back in. When you see a picture on your TV screen, the reboot is complete.
How to Change Your Pin & Password (Minerva Platform)
Initial Password: 1234
Initial PIN Number: The last 4 digits of your phone number
- Press the MENU button on your remote control.
- Use the arrow buttons to choose "Settings" and press OK on your remote.
- Enter your password and press OK.
- Use the arrow buttons to select the "Users" tab. Press OK.
- Use the arrow buttons to select "Edit" and press OK.
- Use the arrow buttons to select the password box and enter you current password.
- Use the arrow buttons to select the new password box and enter your new password.
- Use the arrow button to select the confirm password box and confirm your new password.
- Use the arrow buttons to select the PIN box and enter your PIN number.
- Use the arrow buttons to select the new PIN box and enter your new PIN number.
- Use the arrow buttons to select the confirm PIN box and confirm your new PIN number.
- Use the arrow buttons to select "Submit" and press OK.
- Press OK when settings are successfully updated.
- Press Exit (located above the blue button on your remote) to return to your TV viewing.
How to Add/Remove Caller ID from Your Screen (Minerva Platform)
To have Caller ID on your TV, you must have Caller ID on your phone line.
- Press the MENU button on your remote control.
- Use the arrow buttons to select “settings”and press OK on your remote.
- Enter your password and press OK. (The default password is 1234. We strongly recommend that this be changed immediately. Click here for instructions.)
- You will be on the “Preferences” tab and it will be highlighted. Using the arrow buttons on your remote, scroll to “Enable Caller ID” and press OK on your remote. A check mark will appear in the box.
- Scroll to “Submit” and press OK on your remote.
- A box will appear with this message, “Setting have been successfully updated.” Press OK on your remote.
- Caller ID will now appear on your TV screen. (Please note: If you have multiple lines, only calls to your primary phone number will appear on the screen.)
- To remove Caller ID from your TV screen, simply repeat the process above and remove the checkmark from the “Enable Caller ID” box.
