SkyLine Membership Corporation is a local sponsor of the N.C. Cooperative Leadership Conference, a five-day leadership development program held in June of each year at White Lake, N.C. Sponsored by the Cooperative Council of North Carolina and member cooperatives from across the state, the conference features workshops, speakers, recreation and small group sessions that center around the cooperative way of doing business. The conference also features traditional camp activities along with leadership development and fellowship opportunities for young people.

This year's event will be held from June 21 through 25, and participants will be eligible to apply for a $1,000 college scholarship. By the close of the five-day program, four outstanding participants will be selected to represent North Carolina at the National Institute on Cooperative Education (NICE) at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, from July 17 through 21.

Rising high school sophomores, juniors or seniors whose parents subscribe to telephone service through SkyLine or SkyBest can apply for the conference sponsorships. (Applicants must be must be at least 15 years old at the time of the Conference.) Up to 10 students will be selected to attend.

Applications will be available at area high school guidance departments and at all Skyline Customer Centers beginning Tuesday, March 8. The application deadline is Friday, April 9.
